Field Trips

Field trips are a great way for students to participate in active learning outside of the classroom.  Discovery has promoted the use of field trips in its curriculum to engage and promote education.  In the past Discovery has attempted to hold at least one field trip per Discovery school per year.  Organizing a field trip falls under the responsibility of School Captains and is coordinated by both the school site and Hands On Atlanta.  Both School and Grade Captains will be major point people and chaperones on the day of the fieldtrip.

Field trips include free admission for all Discovery students plus admission for volunteer chaperones at a free or reduced cost.  Past field trips have included the Atlanta Botanical Garden, World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium, and the Fernbank Museum.
